On July 22, Liao Hui, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) leader, visited our museum for the Art Exhibition Celebrating the 140th Birthday of He Xiangning, accompanied by Tan Tianxing, Deputy Director General of the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee. The visit of Liao Hui was warmly received by Ren Kelei, former President of OCT Group and Director of He Xiangning Art Museum, Xue Lijun, Deputy Party Secretary of CPC Committee of OCT Group, Luan Qian, Director of OCT Contemporary Art Terminal (OCAT), Le Zhengwei, Executive Deputy Director of He Xiangning Art Museum and Cai Xianliang, Deputy Director of the museum, who together accompanied Liao during his visit.
During his visit, Liao made a personal analysis and interpretation of the motif and techniques in He Xiangning’s calligraphic and painting works, lending more perceptive and diversified knowledge of the artistic career and accomplishments of He Xiangning to the museum department heads and researchers.
After the museum tour, Liao and museum department heads had a brief meeting, during which the museum leadership updated Liao on the work involved in the Art Exhibition Celebrating the 140th Birthday of He Xiangning, while Liao and Tan both made important instructions on the overall work of the exhibition.
The visit made by Liao greatly inspired the museum staff, firmed the conviction of the whole museum to make unremitting efforts to preserve its authority in the collection, research and exhibition of artworks by He Xiangning, clearly defined our objective of enhancing curatorial competence to expand the influence of exhibitions and broaden the cultural impact so that more people can understand, learn and carry forward the noble sentiment and revolutionary spirit, and boosted our ideological awareness of placing the development of He Xiangning Art Museum at the height of political agenda as a direct affiliate to the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee.
